WRI Business Model
WRI have a simple business model where every party
in the distribution chain benefits: the property, the
partner and, of course, the end customer.
The fragmented nature of the hotel industry has resulted
in much complexity in the book-stay-reconcile-pay cycle.
Some distributors have demanded high commissions and
maximum allotments, and indulged in practices that were
misleading and unclear for the customer. On top of this,
youth travellers and operators of budget accommodations
have been neglected, to date, by online travel companies.
WRI started by enabling budget travellers, a large,
internet-savvy customer segment, to access inexpensive
accommodation such as hostels online. At the same time,
WRI delivered affordable online global distribution
capability for hostel and budget hotel operators. WRI
paid the operators and partners on booked revenue, and
guaranteed distributors got paid on all bookings. The
property owner, in turn, guaranteed to honour online
bookings and provide allotment, and the distribution
partner got complete transparency and clarity on revenue
earned.
WRI is now bringing the methodologies learned in the
budget accommodation space to the wider hotel sector.
With WRI, hotels have the ability to set their room
prices and offer the best rate available as a real time
response to demand levels and customer buying patterns.
We will also start giving distribution partners up-to-the-second
information on sales and due payments, allowing them
to extend their marketing reach and deliver more bookings.
Working with WRI means that hotels will have:

At present, many travel distribution partners suffer from
lack of information and transparency as affiliates: daily
or weekly sales are unknown and commission cheques are
often delivered a long time after the guest has departed.
